Remember to Remember!

By Pastor Gary Wayne

Test: Deuteronomy 4:9, 6:4-14

All the way through the Bible, God set up special days, feasts, altars as memorials to help us remember.
Today is actually a major memorial on the Hebrew calendar. Pentecost Sunday.
Today marks 50 days since Resurrection Sunday.

Some things are so important, we need memorials to remember, God said, so we don’t forget.

Across our nation tomorrow we celebrate Memorial Day. What is that about?
Memorial Day began as “Decoration Day” May 5, 1868, where the graves of those who died in war were decorated with flowers.

Do you have people you want to remember?
Let’s take a few moments and share your memories about them.

God set up memorials all through the Bible.
The Rainbow.
When God parted the Jordan River, He told every tribe to take a stone from the middle of the riverbed and set up a memorial for them to remember.

I want us to recall “memorial stones” that God has placed in our life.

Let’s recall happenings God has done here in this congregation of Faith Chapel.

One more memorial I want to visit about is “The Lord’s Supper.”
Jesus said, “do this in remembrance of Me.”
