Episode 13 of the Napoleon Total War series delves into the shifting dynamics of power and strategy following the monumental events of the previous episode. General Townsend Walker, after a decisive victory in Madrid, has not only secured control of Spain but also gained access to its valuable gold mines and deposits. The Spanish Government, now operating from the Isle of Palma, is reeling from the devastating loss.

Given his remarkable success, General Townsend Walker receives new orders to amass a second army in Spain and handpick a new General to lead them. The objective is clear: to launch an assault on the Isle of Palma and bring an end to Spanish resistance. The fate of Spain hangs in the balance as the British forces prepare for this audacious endeavor.

Meanwhile, General Arthur Wellesley continues his triumphant offensive eastward from France, successfully capturing Holland on behalf of the crown. The last episode concluded with the climactic Battle of Amsterdam, solidifying British control over the region. Wellesley's military prowess and strategic brilliance make him a formidable force on the European mainland.

In Paris, General Ernest Augustus, known as "The Riding Master," has valiantly defended the city against three attacks by French rebels. His unwavering commitment to holding Paris at all costs has kept the rebellion at bay, ensuring stability in the heart of France. However, a small detachment under his command is assigned to intercept any Swiss military maneuvers entering France. The Swiss, known for their troublesome incursions into southern France, have incurred the wrath of the King with their destructive actions.

A significant development arises as King George III passes away, and a new monarch, King William IV, ascends to the throne. London mourns the loss of its former king but rallies around the new ruler. Rumors abound regarding King William's preparations to bolster the military forces of Scotland, known for their expertise in cold-weather warfare. Speculation arises as to whether the new king has plans involving Denmark or Sweden, potentially causing complications with British allies Russia and Austria. The military watches with anticipation, hoping that the young king's understanding of current affairs, imparted by his predecessor, will guide him wisely in the conduct of the war.

As the series unfolds, the fate of nations and the ambitions of kings converge in a conflict that spans continents. With each episode, the stakes rise, and the actions of generals and monarchs shape the destiny of empires. The British forces march forward, guided by the enduring rallying cry: "God save the King!"
