IDPA match with my Wilson SFX9! Can "games" help or hinder tactical training?

Historically I've stayed away from competitions to avoid "gamemanship" getting in the way of real-world-oriented training. However, if you keep your head in the right place, the added stress of being on the clock is a training aid without equal; plus it's fun.
