He embarked on his Hajj, a Muslim's once-in-a-lifetime journey to Mecca, in 1324. He made an elaborate 4,345 kilometer journey over the desert, accompanied by thousands of men carrying valuable things and dressed in the best silks. There were hundreds of creatures in the group.
