BEFORE going from Gucci Mane’s biggest fan to his protégé, only to then lose that coveted spot after admitting he was bi-sexual -- rapper Lil Wop was born Louis McPherson on October 17th, 1993 in Chicago, Illinois. Wop grew up on the Chi-town streets idolizing local heroes like Chief Keef, Fredo Santana, and G Herbo, but it was the Atlanta-based Gucci Mane who would come to hold a special place in his heart and imagination. One of Wop’s oldest cousins is “Pick It Up” rapper, Famous Dex, and it was while hanging out with him and a few other family members one day that Wop heard Gucci’s music for the very first time. From that point forward, Wop idolized Mane. So much so that when Gucci got his infamous ice-cream-cone tattoo on his right cheek, Wop went out and got the exact same thing replicated on his own face. More than just helping define his sense of style, Gucci’s music taught Wop a lot when it came to developing his sound
