The Vatican announced on Friday that Pope Francis was unable to hold any audiences due to running a fever. Matteo Bruni, the Vatican spokesman, refrained from providing additional details regarding the health condition of the 86-year-old leader of the Roman Catholic Church.

In late March, Pope Francis spent five days in a hospital in Rome due to bronchitis, NBC News reported.
