#StarWars 46TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Welcome ONE and ALL to the Star Wars 46th Anniversary stream where we will have a discussion to celebrate the original Star Wars film by George Lucas released on this date back in 1977 now referred to as "A New Hope".

This one film began a multibillion dollar franchise that spawned two sequels with The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Three prequel movies starting with The Phantom Menace and continuing with Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

There would also be animated series, books and video games set in the Star Wars universe as the franchises popularity grew.

This film was "A New Hope" for science fiction film makers as other companies would take notice and bring their own franchises into the mix both on the silver and television screens thanks to innovative motion camera techniques developed by George Lucas and the team at Lucasfilm and Industrial Light and Magic.

Let's celebrate the greatness of this film today while also pondering the future of this franchise now owned by The Walt Disney Company.
