Through the scriptures, we can see the parallels between Moses and Jesus, including both of their mothers. Jochebed risked everything to protect her child, Moses. Mary, the mother of Jesus, dealt with frustration when she did not understand her Son, and she had to suffer as she watched Him crucified. Our parents are not perfect, but God chose them for us, and we should honor them. Honoring our earthly parents helps us to understand how we should relate to our Heavenly Father.
