I’ve gone scuba diving with this around shipwrecks around 200 feet! I also make scary pug movies with it! But if I want to shoot nature films of a plant all day it gets way too hot and turns itself off.
It even overheated in the pool once but never overheated on a scuba dive! Also, the battery life is really a joke.
The battery life is really short. But the videos are great. Defined if you’re going to get this get the 2 extra batteries and battery charge block with it.
Get a headlamp piece for your GoPro and it’s awesome for GoPro
Rear LED screen cracked and does not work. Only had it 3 months. They said that was impact damage and not covered unless you have a Gopro subscription. I can not remember droping it or any other impact to the camera. Love the camera, sad to lose my money.
I have had my GoPro 11 since December 2022. Over the years I have owned every model produced and use them exclusively for my ecology tour programs.
Many pics are taken above the ground and videos are shot in a saltwater environment to photograph stingrays and sharks. The camera is easy to use and works well with a protective case.
However, there is the issue of the battery overheating when I use the case in warm temperatures.
The Bahamas has milder temps in the Winter/Spring but when April rolls around and the weather is warmer the battery heats up and the entire unit has to be submersed underwater to cool the unit down.
This is the only complaint I have about the camera and I hope GoPro will read this review and produce a cooler lithium battery for WARMER climates.
Once this issue is corrected the company will have a true top of the line camera suitable for any environment in any weather conditions.
I finally took the plunge after all these years by getting the Hero 11, and Im happy to say that Im not disappointed. The ability to record at high resolution is great.
The ability to configure for frame rate, resolution, image field, and multiple other customizations is almost dizzying with how many ways to adjust it.
I have alreay used it for one video of myself (using the head strap) successfully hunting a coyote. The picture quality is excellent, and it captured the entire hunt just as I had hoped.
I have since learned that there is a preset that allows less of the "fisheye" effect when recording, so I have switched to that for most of my purposes.
