Delicious Fish Fry Recipes to Try at Home
Ingredients:
4-6 fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or catfish)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a bit of spice)
Vegetable oil, for frying
Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions:
Start by rinsing the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Set them aside.
In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. You want enough oil to cover the fish fillets when frying.
Take one fish fillet at a time and coat it in the flour mixture, making sure to cover both sides evenly. Shake off any excess flour.
Carefully place the coated fish fillet in the hot oil. Repeat the process with the remaining fillets, making sure not to overcrowd the pan (you may need to fry them in batches).
Fry the fish fillets for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown and crispy. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.
Once cooked, remove the fish fillets from the oil using a slotted spoon or tongs, and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
Serve the fish fry hot with lemon wedges for squeezing over the fish. You can also serve it with tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.
