History Speaks Confronts Michael Tracey on His World War II Revisionism + Holocaust Takes

In this exchange, I am highly critical of Tracey's revisionist argument that US entry into the Second World War led to a radicalization of the Holocaust.

I basically argue that Tracey's argument is misleading by omission, insofar as he omits to mention that 1) most European Jews - Polish and Soviet Jews, as well as Jews in Bessarabia and northern Bukovina - were already marked for murder before US entry into World War II; and 2) that the Nazis were engaged in multiple additional genocides before US entry into the war, including the genocides of gentile Poles and gentile Russians; these genocides that were curtailed by Allied advances in World War II, before (as with the Holocaust) being ultimately stopped by Allied victory.

Though I am harshly critical of his views on the historical substance, I also defend Tracey against scurrilous charges of Holocaust denial leveled by the woke left. I appreciate Tracey's willingness to engage with critics, a rarity among contemporary journalists. And I oppose the current practice of making WWII revisionism a taboo. Such revisionism is easily discredited and should be dealt with intellectually.
