Thread: Danville 6/0, Black, White
Weight: Lead Wire, .025, 15 wraps
Tail: Rooster Saddle, Black
Rib: Danville Medium Wire, Silver
Body: Senyo Laser Dub, Pearl
Wing: Rooster Saddle, Black
Throat: Rooster Saddle, Red
Hackle: Rooster Saddle, Black

The Matuka is a well known streamer that has been tied in all sorts of colors as well as variations over the years. There is an interesting history to the Matuka and I will refer you to a video by Matt O'Neal of Savage Flies ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sws1tAd1MCE) who has wonderful explanation as to the history and what Matuka flies are today. The Matuka, like the 'Clouser Minnow', is more of a tying style than a specific fly these days. They are usually tied with a rooster hackle for the wing and tail but you will see flies tied with rabbit strips for the wing and tail in the same fashion and called Matuka flies. All in all, a wonderful streamer pattern that is time well spent at the vise and worth having a few in your fly box. -- Enjoy.
