Tina Turner is a legendary singer, songwriter and actress who has been rocking the world for over six decades. - Tina Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock in 1939 in Nutbush, Tennessee. She got her stage name from her former husband and musical partner Ike Turner, who also gave her the nickname "Little Ann". She later changed her name legally to Tina Turner after their divorce in 1978.
- Tina Turner started singing in her local church choir when she was a child. She also learned to play the piano and guitar. She met Ike Turner when she was 17 years old at a nightclub in St. Louis, where he was performing with his band The Kings of Rhythm.
