1/3 acre urban food system growth update. Corn looks reasonably good. Of the numerous varieties i planted i think it is just the marado black corn and magic manna corn that are tasselling while short. The mexican corn, hopi and southern corn likely wont tassel till taller growth. Clover understory doing good as well. Squash, watermelon and Sunflower coming in decent in gaps between corn rows. Chinese and Hybrid(American,Chinese, japanese) chestnut are in flower. Hopefully will see burrs starting to form in a month or so. Fusarium head blight struck one of the kamut khorasan wheat plants. Oat, soybean, clover, corn, Sunflower chaos garden is chaotic and competition shows in reduced growth but still hopeful that will get a good seed yield that is more adapted to polyculture growing. The black locust and Elderberry are encroaching on the chaos garden which is interesting but not necessarily welcomed. Will let it play out. Footage of black cat mother and one of her three kittens at the end. I gave the mom cat a whole stick of grass fed butter which she ate till she was full and left rest for later.
