In its natural state, Peru feeds on everything and even poisonous snakes cannot escape its clutches. Turkeys are great hunters of both venomous and non-venomous snakes. Turkeys have incredibly strong and long scaly legs with sharp claws. They use the claws to attack the snake by grabbing it by the neck and violently shaking it until the snake dies. So having turkeys in your backyard can be a good idea as they will kill the snakes there and other snakes will be scared to invade your property. Turkeys will group around a snake they find and drive it off their land if they don't eat it first. But it is advisable to prevent snakes from entering your yard rather than relying on turkeys alone. Certain snakes can bite and kill turkeys, so you can't rely on turkeys alone to keep your property snake-free. Therefore, it is better to keep the grass well cut and grow plants that snakes hate.
