Planting American Flag Leeks
In my raised garden bed that has my garlic, I'm planting the American flag leeks. I sowed these seeds in a milk jug, this is also known as the winter sowing method and now it’s time to plant them in the garden. Typical spacing is about 6-8" apart. I put them a little closer, but they should be fine. The deeper the leek is planted there will be more of the white part of the leek for cooking. You can also add some soil or mulch as the leek begins to grow. After the leeks were planted I mulched the area with straw and watered in the leeks.
