A single fact that does not fit into a theory (and equally — into a hypothesis) is enough for this theory (hypothesis) to be recognized as inconsistent in the form in which it has taken shape, — either in general or in the previously accepted field of its application. This applies to both natural science and its applied branches, and social sciences, including history.
