Pelican Castaway 100 has a great all around hull design for paddling many types of waters. I found it cut through choppy waters pretty well. With the DIY outriggers I felt very stable. This has become my quick on the go last minute fishing kayak. It takes very little effort to transport and carry thus making it perfect for unplanned fishing trips which I do often. To be honest I can't remember the last time I took my expensive Hobie pedal kayak out (maybe months). I live on the water and near Sanibel Island yet my lightweight Pelican kayaks get the most attention. I even use it for planned surf fishing so I can paddle out large cut-baits when targeting REALLY large sharks such as hammerheads. Great kayak and the TST manufacturing process used on these Pelicans is phenomenal. They handle tons of abuse and are incredibly impact resistant. Lots of kayak renters businesses love them because they hold up so well to renter abuse. The phone controlled 12v LED lighting on this kayak is awesome and gets a lot of attention. I can set it to solid colors, music beats, and much more.
