VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
In this video we discuss BASICS of getting as start at building a livewell for a kayak. There are a lot of things to consider. Shape & size of container are often overlooked but can affect bait & fish you plan to keep alive. We recommend containers with rounded corners or none at all. Fish thrive when swimming in circles, but containers with sharp 90 degree corners cause fish to pile in corners and this causes many to die. Pump choice is also important. Too much current can beat up bait fish or distress your catch...However, too little current will cause a decrease of dissolved oxygen in the water and bait/fish will die. In this video we give insight as to what containers we have used and what types and brands of pumps we have liked. We don't show any building of livewells in this video...we have other videos showing FULL build processes.
