Against more experienced opponents, it is never easy to get past the legs. When you pass to one side they will switch their hips to block you and retake guard. When you do the push-up pass, your pressure on Uke's legs will help to slow the hip movement to defend against your pass. Nevertheless, if Uke does switch the legs over, reswitch your hands to quickly pass on the opposite side. It is a version of the Tensho movement that allows this to happen smoothly.
