Immigrants Speak Week 19: Illa from Spain: Socialism Is The Death Of Soul

Illa was born and raised in Spain. She has 3 Masters degrees, then did her PhD in Astrophysics in Sweden, and has been working at different universities all her career.

Yet, the descent into totalitarianism going on in Spain -- where freedom of speech is practically banned; the separation between the executive, legislative, and judicial powers no longer exists; the "de-facto" governmental control is imposed on all people's movements -- and the impossibility of getting a job, plus the continuous police prosecution she was suffering, made her decide to leave her country of origin and continue her career in the USA.

Here, Illa is seeing the founding principles of this country, our God-given rights, among which are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, being eroded in the same way as in Spain, with the infiltration of socialist and communist ideas, that will only lead to enslavement and poverty. #socialism #freehealthcare #spain #europe #academia
