The Ramadan Buffet During Fasting

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar & observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting but without the fasting & more feasting. What health effects come from so much binge eating? Is there a spiritual component to the gluttony during Ramadan & what would the biblical Jesus say about this?
