A demonstration against police violence was held in Omdurman, Sudan's capital Khartoum's twin city on Monday to denounce military violence following a protester's death over the weekend.

Twenty-year-old Mohammed Khalis died after allegedly being shot in the chest by a bullet fired by the police.

Following his burial on Saturday, many protests took place in Khartoum neighbourhoods.

Since the October 25 putsch led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, 96 people have been killed in Khartoum amid a persistent political and economic crisis in the country
