Food Stamp Recipients Get Bad News
We have some breaking news! A recent Axios-Ipsos survey reveals that a substantial 63% of Americans support work requirements for Medicaid and food stamps recipients. This comes as Republican lawmakers advocate for stricter obligations in debt ceiling negotiations. While 80% of Republicans back work requirements, surprising results show that almost half of Democrats, 49%, share the same sentiment. Additionally, independent voters voice their support at 66%. Proposed legislation seeks to enforce 80 hours of work per month for Medicaid beneficiaries, with exceptions for dependents and older individuals. The plan also aims to enhance work requirements for SNAP recipients.
