A short/punchy composition and only a few cycles long, the tukra section of the solo will be second to last following the "gat" section and preceding the "chakradar" section. As a general rule, the theka should be played in-between each tukra and each composition throughout the solo. Also, it is common for the soloist to recite the tukra before playing it on the drums.

This tukra features the phrase Tetekata gadigene Dha & Kran. It can be felt in 2- or 4-speed. Its tihai has an optional extension

Tintaal: 16-beat rhythm cycle (4+4+4+4)
Chakradar: (Tukra)x3 where the last note of the last tukra resolves to beat 1
Tihai: Phrase played 3 times with last note of 3rd time resolving to beat 1 of the taal
Taal: Rhythm Cycle
Tukra: Short Body+Tihai
Theka: A prescribed groove that outlines the shape of the taal

I originally learned this tabla composition from Randy Gloss at CalArts
