US and Britain are hypocrites: China condemns Assange's extradition

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin on Monday strongly condemned the decision of the British Home Office, which on Sunday finally agreed to extradite Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to the United States.

According to Wang, "the Assange case is a mirror" that shows the hypocrisy of the U.S. and the U.K. with regard to press freedom.

Wang also accused the U.S. of accusing journalist Julian Assange of sexual harassment, espionage, and data abuse over the past decade, and of subjecting him to constant surveillance and persecution.
