Hey Guy’s. Welcome back to my channel. In today’s video I’m going to show you how to make another family favorite, Southern Style Fried Cabbage & Turkey Sausages. It’s a combination of cabbage, turkey sausages, green onions, sweet shallots and garlic.
There are many ways to cook cabbage and it will turn out delicious as long as you do not overcook it. This is why I always fry it when I cook it rather than boil it. I start with an oil in the pan that is heated then add the cabbage. The cabbage will sizzle when it hits the pan. I then add a little broth of my choosing and place the lid on the top until it is wilted down. Little liquid is needed because cabbage is full of water already. The water in the cabbage is released as it steams and cooks. I usually cook it down to the grease and this is why it’s called Fried Cabbage.
Cabbage is a Fall harvest vegetable but most people eat it year round, like me. Whenever I cook cabbage I always pair it with cornbread. The other sides are quite versatile but cornbread is a must.
