Lay yourself down, dear one,

This time is all yours.

You’ve been caring for others all day.

Your body is exhausted,

Your mind is running wild,

Calm down and see if you’re okay.

You have a habit,

Of giving away,

Mountains of energy to others.

You have a gift,

Of empathy and love,

But too much makes you suffer.

You’re the helper,

The giver, the support,

A caregiver extraordinaire.

If you don’t create,

Boundaries and rules,

Your energy will be left bare.
