Las Vegas marked the third race of the 2001 NASCAR Winston Cup Season, where fans continued to pay tribute to the life of Dale Earnhardt. With Sterling Marlin now atop the point standings, Dodge teams were favored at a track Roush Racing’s Ford team had dominated in its brief history. But the first “No Bull 5” race of the season proved particularly competitive.
