Disaster strikes: Northern Italy ravaged by fierce floods

Waves of torrential rains and rivers breaking their banks have submerged Italy's northeastern Emilia-Romagna with homes, roads, and cars all being swamped. Rescuers have been dispatched throughout the region with some collecting people from their roofs.

According to media reports citing local authorities, at least two people have already fallen victim to the natural disaster.
