• Neh. 1:5 God's "covenant of unfailing love" refers to God's promise to love the descendants of Abraham. It is also mentioned in Deu_7:7-9. Nehemiah fasted and prayed for several days, expressing his sorrow for Israel's sin and his desire that Jerusalem would again come alive with the worship of the one true God. Nehemiah demonstrated the elements of effective prayer: (1) praise, (2) thanksgiving, (3) repentance, (4) specific requests, and (5) commitment. Heartfelt prayers like Nehemiah's can help clarify (1) any problem you may be facing, (2) God's great power to help you, and (3) the job you have to do. By the end of his prayer time, Nehemiah knew what action he had to take (Neh_1:11). When God's people pray, difficult decisions fall into proper perspective, and appropriate actions follow.

• Neh. 1:6-7 Nehemiah acknowledged that the destruction of Jerusalem and the captivity of the people was a part of God’s righteous keeping of His word. Acknowledging the fact that God had warned them that if they would forsake the Lord, that they would be forsaken of the Lord. They had the warning. And Nehemiah in his prayer unto God recognizes and acknowledges God’s faithfulness. "Lord, You told us through Moses that if we would turn from Thee that we would be driven from the land and all." And he acknowledges the faithfulness of God to His word. But then God had also promised that if the people would turn to Him, that He would restore them to the land. And so he is reminding God of the promises that God had made unto the people.

• Neh. 1:8-11 Nehemiah reminded God of His promises and of His word and then asked God to bless the people and to show His great hand of power towards them. So he went in after several days to the king bearing the cup of Artaxerxes, for Nehemiah was the king’s cupbearer. This story began in the month of December and now fast forward to April, he was ready to take the cup unto the king and he is still troubled this much later over the condition of Israel. Approach God with all hard desires from earthly kings and men and God in whose hand is the hearts of kings and men would grant favor and honor with men.

Personal Supplication
Father, in the name of Jesus, grant me favour and honor before kings and men, and let all that I seek from You come to me by favour from kings and men.
Ps 30:7
7 Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.

Daily Covenant Favor Declaration
I decree in the name of Jesus, from this moment forward, I see myself the way God sees me. I am highly favoured of the Lord. I am crowned with glory and honour. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
I am reigning as a king in life through the one man Jesus Christ the messiah. Now in Jesus name, I declare by faith that I walk in divine favour, I have preferential treatment, supernatural increase. I have restoration, I have prominence, I have petitions granted, laws changed, policies and rules changed, and battles won, which I do not have to fight all because of favour. The blessing and favour of God is on my life. In Jesus name, every morning, when I arise, I would speak and expect divine favour to go before me and surround me as with a shield, with goodwill and pleasures forevermore.

Doors are now open for me that men said are impossible to open. No obstacles can stop me, no hindrances can delay me. In Jesus name, I am honoured by my Father, as I receive genuine favour that comes directly from God. I am special to Him, I am the object of His affection, I am the apple of His eyes, I am blessed and highly favoured of the Lord. Everyone and everything shall work to favour me. Angels Goodness and Mercy shall accompany me in all my ways. It is written with long life will God satisfy me and show me his salvation. Therefore, I declare that I shall not die but live to declare the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I declare over me and my household today that the yoke and burden of death over us is broken. So shall it be for me today
