Going to Court

In this video, I share my experience with the court system as I talk about my court date today. After my escape and the arrest of my abuser, I thought we were free, but little did I know that it was the beginning of a long and difficult journey through the court system. I encountered different types of judges, some who were kind and understanding, while others were not. But with the help of my faith and spiritual preparation, I was able to handle the situation better and find peace amidst the chaos. Today is a special day as we get to release our niece from guardianship since she turned 18. She has been living with us since 2019, and it's a huge milestone for all of us. Although the court system can be challenging, my job as a parent is to bring my children closer to God and teach them how much they are loved, no matter what suffering they face.
