In 2021, the Centers for Disease Control released a survey that revealed that 57% of teen girls felt persistent sadness or hopelessness, while 30% had seriously considered suicide. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. Tim Clinton interviews Patti Garibay, the founder and executive director of American Heritage Girls. According to Patti, we must remind our teen daughters that they have self-worth and they should never lose sight of that. Why? Because they are made in the image of Christ, and that will substantiate each one of us. Proverbs 31:20 declares, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

About Today's Guest: Patti Garibay
Patti Garibay is the founder and executive director of American Heritage Girls, a national service organization dedicated to developing character in the young girls of our country. In 1995, Patti became deeply concerned by the evolving secular ideology of the Girl Scouts. As a result, she was inspired to create a Christ-centered alternative scouting program. Today, American Heritage Girls is in all 50 states with over 52,000 members. Patti is considered a thought leader on "all things girl," and has appeared on radio and TV to promote American Heritage Girls and its values. She was named a member of the American Family Association's "40 Faithful" in 2017. Patti and her husband, Pat, reside in Cincinnati, Ohio, and have four married children and nine grandchildren.
