What about the health benefits of dark chocolate? Is that not recommended?
Dr. Pradip Jamnadas says he loves dark chocolate, and shares some benefits - including that it helps the gut microbiome! He also recommends cacao. He also explains that the main issue with sugar is fructose, and shares why this is the case. Dr. Paul Marik adds that a little fruit once a day is fine - especially blueberries, strawberries and other fruits with a low glycemic index - but to not eat too many high glycemic index fruits like watermelon, bananas, or especially fruit juices.
