How to make Italian Pizza at home | Spicy and Cheesy | Homemade Italian Pizza Recipe
Here's a recipe for making Italian pizza at home:
Ingredients:
For the pizza dough:
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon instant yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup lukewarm water
2 tablespoons olive oil
For the pizza sauce:
1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
For the toppings:
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Your choice of additional toppings (e.g., sliced pepperoni, sliced bell peppers, sliced onions, sliced mushrooms, etc.)
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the lukewarm water and olive oil. Mix until the dough comes together.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Form the dough into a ball.
Place the dough ball in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
While the dough is rising, prepare the pizza sauce. In a saucepan, combine the crushed tomatoes, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer over low heat for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion into a thin circle on a floured surface.
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza peel lined with parchment paper. If you're using a pizza stone, transfer the dough directly onto the preheated stone.
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
Add your desired toppings, such as pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, or any other toppings you like.
Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
