Trump's decision to appear on CNN, a network with which he notoriously feuded throughout his presidency, had already drawn criticism from the left, and some network employees are said to have been upset with how the event played out on Wednesday night. In front of a largely Republican audience in New Hampshire, Trump's remarks were frequently greeted with applause and laughter; at one point, he quipped Collins was a "nasty person". CNN shout it down early and cut off 20mins of what was suppose to be a 90mins meeting.
