Pakistan arrests hundreds as former PM charged with corruption
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan pleads not guilty to corruption charges following his arrest, leading to protests across the country. Eight people have died and nearly 1,000 people have been arrested since his arrest.
His Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party claims he has not had access to legal counsel and plans to challenge the legality of his arrest. If convicted, he would be disqualified from standing for office, which could be a life-long ban. Elections are due later this year.
