Episode 126 - Leaders often want to have command and control environments, but it's important to remember that the goal of a leader is not to focus on profit margins or micromanagement, but rather to serve people. Intrinsic motivators are more effective than trying to manage people, and serving people will lead to success and revenue.

Leaders: Serve people, not profit margins! It's not about micromanaging, it's about serving the people. The by-product will be success and revenue, but it starts with serving those you lead. #Leadership #ServePeople

I think culturally
let me make
this distinction
if you don't mind.
I think it's
human nature
for leaders to want
to have
command and control
environments
It's what we do
It's what we do
with our kids
Your room's not clean
Yell
manipulate
shame
clean your room
That's what we do
because we think
it's about the room
We've lost sight
what is it about
as a leader
It's not about the room
In fact
it's not even really about
the gross profits
It's not about
the profit margin
It's about the people.
That is who your job
is to serve
The by product
will be revenue
The by product
will be success
but you have to
serve people
and guess what?
I'm not motivated
By you trying to
micromanage me
Those aren't
intrinsic motivators
for anybody
