Air Fryer Salmon
Packed with nutrients, this superfood is perfect for any healthy and filling lunch or dinner. Super easy and simple to prepare.
This recipe is great for those of us who are looking after or trying to lose weight. Salmon is a delicious fish that is versatile and easy to find in most markets. With salmon's heart-healthy omega-3s, high-quality protein, and rich micronutrient content, it's worth adding to your meal plan. A higher intake of omega-3s is associated with a reduced risk of certain diseases such as cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and other conditions.1

There is no fibre, sugars, or carbohydrates in salmon. The following nutrition information is provided by the USDA for 3 ounces (85g) of raw, wild Atlantic salmon
Vitamins and Minerals
Salmon provides vitamin A and multiple B vitamins. It is one of the few natural food sources of vitamin D (wild salmon is a particularly good source). Salmon is also rich in several minerals, including magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, and selenium. Additionally, canned salmon contains lots of calcium (due to the edible bones).

Cooking the salmon
• You can cook salmon in the air fryer with any of your favourite seasonings, using the time and temperature in this recipe.
• Salmon: Choose your favourite type of salmon fresh versus frozen salmon you will need to keep an eye on it while cooking
• Prep the salmon.
• Set the air fryer to 400℉ (200℃), then pat your salmon filets dry with a paper towel. Don’t skip this step as this will help the seasoning to stick better!
Dijon Mustard:
• The mustard keeps the top moist and adds that special flavour.
• Add the mustard.
• Evenly spread half a tablespoon of mustard onto each salmon filet. A brush or the back of a spoon is an easy way to schmear it into one thin layer.
• Spices:
• I’m using a blend of sweet paprika (though you could also use smoked paprika), garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
• The steps in this salmon recipe are pretty straightforward. But I did want to make a note about the spices. Although there’s measurements written out for each one, I’ve found that shaking them straight from the spice bottle had the best results for an evenly coated crust. Whereas sprinkling with a measuring spoon created clumps on top – which you don’t want.

• Don’t rinse salmon with water.
• Just like chicken, the FDA recommends not to wash raw fish. It can increase the risk of contamination by accidentally spreading onto other surfaces in your kitchen.

• Air fry.
• Add two salmon filets to the air fryer and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until flaky with a fork.
• Keep an eye on timing.
• All air fryers cook differently when it comes to temperature. Some cook hotter, some cook lower. So, make sure to check on the salmon at around 8 minutes to prevent it from burning on top. It’s always best to slightly undercook the salmon and add more time as needed, than to accidentally overcook it
