It is recommended to replace the air filter every other oil change.
More often on vehicles driven in dusty and sandy areas.

Dirty air filter symptoms:
1. slow acceleration, no power.
2. black smoke in exhaust
3. engine running rough
4. engine back firing
5. possible low gas mileage
6. possible smell of gas in the exhaust. rich condition
