Testing the charging system and battery on a 2009 Nissan Altima

The car was slowly turning over at start-up.
I used my SUN VAT45, a battery/alternator/starter tester. When I worked at a Toyota Dealer, the service department had this make and model to test all the cars.
I was lucky to get one at a great price from Washington state.

The charging system tested good at 107 amps, the alternator is rated at 110 amps. The test on the battery however showed it was time to replace it. I advised my friend to buy a new battery before she gets home.
