A Step-by-Step Guide on How to Make Perfect Yorkshire Puddings
Yorkshire Puddings are a classic British dish that are the perfect accompaniment to a Sunday roast dinner. These light and airy savory puddings are made from a simple batter of flour, eggs, and milk. While they may seem daunting to make, with the right technique and a few key tips, you can easily achieve perfect Yorkshire puddings every time.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make them:
Ingredients:
100g plain flour
2 large eggs
150ml milk
Salt
Pepper
Vegetable oil
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 220°C/200°C fan/gas mark 7.
Add a small amount of vegetable oil to each compartment of a 12-hole muffin tin and place in the oven to heat up.
In a mixing bowl, sift in the flour and add a pinch of salt and pepper. Create a well in the center of the flour mixture.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and gradually add the milk, whisking constantly to create a smooth batter.
Pour the egg and milk mixture into the well in the flour mixture and whisk together until completely combined.
Remove the hot muffin tin from the oven and quickly pour the batter evenly into each compartment, filling them approximately ¾ of the way full.
Place the muffin tin back into the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the puddings have risen and are golden brown.
Once cooked, remove the Yorkshire puddings from the oven and transfer them to a wire rack to cool slightly.
Serve immediately alongside your roast dinner, with a generous helping of gravy.
