Oak Hill Church of Christ Elder, Curtis Lively, delivers a message on the importance of cultivating all the Christian virtues in order to lead the most fulfilling life here on Earth.

Most people find themselves to be called toward one of the listed virtues within 2 Peter 1:5-7. Those things they succeed at or feel confident in, they expend their effort, because being reminded of success feels good. Doubly so, being reminded by others of your success at a particular virtue feels good.

However, God calls upon us to emulate Christ in attempting to cultivate all of the Christian virtues, rather than clinging to the virtue we feel most accomplished with. Such a calling is a difficult one, because it means facing the fact that we are yet in need of work and development.

Jesus reminds us in Matthew chapter 7 that the pathway to a Godly life is not an open highway, but a narrow road. Cultivating Christian virtue is not easy, but, in the end, the person we become as a result of our hard work and God's love will be far superior and our life more fulfilling because of it.
