The Leptin Resistance Diet: A Game-Changer for Weight Loss After 50!
Are you tired of trying every diet under the sun and still not losing weight or worse yet you’re gaining weight? It could be Leptin Resistance which occurs when the body doesn't respond properly to the hormone leptin. This means that your brain can't signal your body to burn fat. Here are ways to combat leptin resistance!
First, avoid fructose which is found in fruit, honey, agave, molasses, maple syrup, and dates. Sugars and fructose can increase insulin levels and triglycerides, leading to more leptin resistance.
Another way to combat leptin resistance is to avoid foods with lectins, such as nightshade vegetables (like tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and potatoes), legumes (like beans, lentils, and peas), and cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts).
Instead, focus on incorporating protein-rich foods into your diet, such as red meats, poultry, fish, and eggs. Non-starchy vegetables like leafy greens and mushrooms are also great options. And don't forget about healthy fats, like butter, olive oil, and coconut oil. These foods can help combat leptin resistance and get you burning fat.
