Canada: PM Justin Trudeau on death of Marc Lalonde, Alberta wildfires – May 8, 2023

Speaking with reporters ahead of the Intergovernmental Leaders Forum in Ottawa, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau comments on the passing of former Liberal cabinet minister Marc Lalonde, who died on May 7 at the age of 93. The prime minister also comments on the ongoing wildfire situation in Alberta, and says he has spoken with Premier Danielle Smith about providing federal assistance.
