Nate Murphy is a candidate for Board of County Supervisors Neabsco District on May 29, 2023.

Nate Murphy is a candidate running for the Neabsco Supervisor position in Prince William County, Virginia. As a homegrown son of the county and a proud graduate of Gar-Field Senior High School, Nate has been inspired by his former teachers and coaches to make an impact in his students' and athletes' lives on and off the field. As a veteran of the U.S. Army, Nate understands the value of serving others and holds the Army ethos of self-service as one of his guiding principles.

Nate is running on a platform that prioritizes public safety, education, affordable housing, taxation, and collective bargaining. He believes that safety can be achieved through preventive measures, addressing mental health as a health problem, engaging the community with productive measures, and supporting good policing. In terms of education, Nate supports allocating additional resources to public schools by expanding STEM and vocational programs and further funding school safety. He also advocates for practical solutions to the housing crisis, such as workforce and income-based affordable housing, and a fair and diverse tax base that balances tax responsibilities.

In terms of what Nate has done for the community, he has been a teacher and coach, empowering his students in the classroom and on the field to reach their highest potential. Nate is also a proud member of the largest public sector negotiator in Virginia, PWEA, and supports collective bargaining for public workers, believing that all workers deserve respect in their workplace. With his passion for education and service, Nate has been a positive influence in the community and hopes to continue making a difference as the Neabsco Supervisor.
