FINDING WHO I AM IN CHRIST Breastplate of Righteousness
ESV Ephesians 6:14 14
Speaker - Own Mason
Sermon Notes
Ephesians 6:14 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
2 Corinthians 6:7 7 by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;
Isaiah 59:17 17 He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing,
and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak.
1. What area in your life do you struggle the most with?
Romans 8:37 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
2. Jesus enabled us to live out righteousness.
2 Corinthians 5:21 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Romans 5:17 17 For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:21-22 21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:
3. As we shine for Jesus, we are to let go of fear and stand in confidence.
1 John 5:14-15 14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
Acts 3:5-6 5 And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!
Isaiah 51:7-8 7 “Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear not the reproach of man, nor be dismayed at their revilings. 8 For the moth will eat them up like a garment, and the worm will eat them like wool, but my righteousness will be forever, and my salvation to all generations.”
Psalm 37:17 17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.
