US border agents prepare for immigration surge as Title 42 restrictions are lifted

Title 42 is expected to come to an end on Thursday. Border agents, state and local officials and even President Biden’s top aides in Washington are all bracing for an immigration surge, tens of thousands of immigrants are expected to show up at the U.S. southern border in the coming days. According to CNN, people have already begun crossing into U.S. border towns, anticipating the end of Title 42. Three cities in Texas — Brownsville, Laredo and El Paso — have declared a state of emergency.
