So, Yakob is blessed with many cattle, livestock and they were prime, meaning they were the best of the flocks of Laban, and remember it was by agreement. And of course it was to show Yakob, Laban and all involved, including us, that GOD was ultimately in control then as HE is now.
Never mind that it was the deal that Laban agreed to, and tried his best to cheat in his favor, and the clear hand of Yakob’s GOD, Yahweh. In reality, these sons knew that as Yakob’s wealth grew, their own inheritance shrank.
