In this video, Dr. Justin provides the following:
-A brief overview of thyroid physiology.
-Focusing on the interplay between the brain pituitary gland.
-Thyroid.
He explains that thyroid issues can often stem from disruptions in the brain due to distress, chronic inflammation, and autoimmune conditions. Dr. Justin emphasizes the importance of the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis and how factors like inflammation, toxicity, and stress can impact thyroid function.

He also discusses the production of thyroid hormones, mentioning that the thyroid gland produces T4 locally, with most of the conversion to T3 occurring in the liver and through healthy gut bacteria. He highlights how adrenal function, stress, and hormone imbalances can affect the production of reverse T3, which fills receptor sites without being an active thyroid hormone. Finally, Dr. Justin briefly mentions the root causes of thyroid issues, including liver toxicity, low selenium levels, gut bacteria imbalances, and female hormone imbalances.
